Closing Time

This class has given me the opportunity to enhance my knowledge on social media. I thought I knew a lot about social media, but there was still many things I learned throughout this course. It has given me the chance to open up to Blogging, which if it wasn't for this course I would never have found the courage to start my own blog, so this has given me some confidence to begin on my own free time. I have learned that social media plays a huge role in personal branding, It helps network and put your name out there while trying to portray a certain reputation for your brand.  I would have liked to spend more time on viral marketing plans and gone into more detail about how to make a viral campaign. I will continue to use Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, but I will be using LinkedIn now, since I am finishing up my degree and moving onto the professional world. It is time that I use all my social media platform with caution and filter what I post, because social media is a huge part of society and careers. I enjoyed this class and what it has taught me, it is a course that I will be able to apply to my everyday life.

Professionalism

Being professional may seem hard at times and having to be careful what you post and say on social media will effect your professional career. For example, even if you are young and haven't gotten a degree yet, if you post pictures getting drunk every weekend a company may see that and decide to choose another candidate who is more professional outside of work. When you have a job you represent that company, on or off working hours. Creating a professional profile is important when networking and trying to get higher up in the workforce. The approach I took to create my professional profile is similar to how my resume is. You want to sell yourself, because just like every other social media thousands of companies and people are on it daily. Talk about your strengths and where you see yourself. Your professional social media, like LinkedIn is a chance to get interviewed without having someone there to ask you questions. Even with other social media pages it is still important to censor what you post. Also post positive things, as that is what my brand is about. I not want my brand it be represented negatively so it is important to be positive and post motivational sayings and advice.

Vlogging

My brand is to find yourself no matter how long the journey may take. Enjoy your life and enjoy who you are. Everyone constantly asking about work and school. With my brand I want to make it fun and exciting for people. Life isn't about going to school, getting a degree, using that degree to get a job, and then with that money from your job pay bills. Its important to find something you love and create a career out of it while enjoying life as well. I chose this video because it demonstrates what I enjoy, which is sports. I want my brand to be informative yet fun. This youtuber, Joe Santago makes his videos enjoyable for the viewers. He uses his passion of making videos and ties what he enjoys, football to merge as one. What I want for my brand is the same. I want to enjoy what I do and have a good time while doing it. He uses Youtube as a platform to not only gain an audience but promote other businesses as well. Getting sponsored is important when creating a brand. I want my audience to be entertained and not just have them be informed. My brand will have entertaining topics and ideas that will benefit themselves and others around them.

Welcome!

Hey Everyone, My name is Allison Baker and I am your typical 23 year old. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, shopping, working out, and playing sports. I have been playing sports my whole life and always been involved one way or another. My uncle got me introduced to the other side of sports, the organization and coordinating of it. I no longer play on a team, but my love for sports never changed after I left high school. Growing up in the Chicagoland area also influenced my passion for sports. Chicago is such a high spirited city, you can't help but love the game. Social Media helps not only exposes the highlights of the game, and the athletes themselves, but it promotes the events and other activities going on. It is a major way to get your name out there!
